“The Art of War” by Sun Tzu has timeless military strategies and philosophical thoughts that are still relevant today. These insights are not only applicable to ancient warfare but also to modern business practices. Many global enterprises are leveraging Sun Tzu’s teachings in their operations.
Based on these principles, NTQ Solution has designed a special program for company leaders, managers, and key personnel. This program aims to enhance the team’s capabilities by applying Sun Tzu’s insights to management training activities. NTQ’s goal is to develop a proactive and adaptable mindset within the team to tackle any challenges, ultimately leading to greater success for the company.
In “The Art of War”, Sun Tzu asserts: “War is a matter of vital importance to the state; it is the province of life or death; the road to survival or ruin. It must be thoroughly studied.” Similarly, in business, “the marketplace is a battlefield,” and a thriving enterprise must analyze, research, and compare its strengths and weaknesses while assessing the external market conditions.
He based a lot of his insights around 5 simple factors that will strongly influence which army will prevail.
NTQ recognizes that for a business to grow strong and sustainably, it cannot lack commanders and excellent generals. Leaders and managers play a crucial role in shaping and implementing the company’s strategy. They also lead, inspire members, build trust, and accompany the collective.
Therefore, focusing on enhancing the capabilities and training the resilience of the management and leadership team is the key to strengthening NTQ’s internal strength, enabling it to adapt flexibly to external changes and fluctuations.
In 2022, NTQ Solution began executing a comprehensive leadership transformation training program called “Converging Aspirations.” This program aims to prepare the leadership and management team for the next five-year phase by fostering determination and collaboration. The program consists of three main activities that involve participation from the management and leadership team at NTQ’s global branches.
The first activity, “CxO Talk – The Way,” focuses on clarifying NTQ’s goals and development direction for the 2022-2026 period. It includes insights from Mr. Pham Thai Son, CEO of NTQ Solution, and practical lessons on team management from Dr. Pham Dinh Doan, Chairman of Phu Thai Group. This activity aims to provide managers with a clearer understanding of NTQ’s overarching goals and their role within the organization.
The second activity, “Speed up to L.E.O UP – Leadership Resilience Training,” involves over 30 members divided into five groups. Participants will overcome a distance of over 15km without the support of a cable car to conquer Fansipan peak, the highest mountain in Indochina. This activity serves as a physical and mental challenge, testing personal endurance, resilience, perseverance, and the spirit of companionship in reaching the 3,143m milestone set by NTQ.
The final event allows NTQ’s managers and leaders to reflect on the programs and share their feelings, thoughts, and personal difficulties. Through this, they aim to unify a common mindset and establish the “Rule of the Game” for NTQ managers, in preparation to embrace future challenges with a new mindset and renewed energy.
Following the successful 2022 activities, NTQ Solution is continuing to roll out the Leadership in Action 2024: Transform Tomorrow Leaders program on a larger scale. This includes investments and innovations in content and quality. The focus of this year’s program is to change mindsets, move towards systematic and methodical management approaches, and strengthen the connection among the company’s leadership and management team.
The program is divided into stages, spanning from June to the end of the year. In June and July, the management and leadership team completed Stage 1 – NTQ Manager Portrait, which consisted of three training sessions.
During the first session, managers reflected on NTQ’s proud 13-year journey of formation and development, and unified the goals for the 2024-2026 period, following the philosophy of Sun Tzu’s “The Art of War.”
After two sessions, NTQ completed a set of five common competencies and three competencies for management positions. These were based on the practical experiences of the managers combined with theoretical frameworks from experts. The discussions were lively, providing new, multi-dimensional perspectives, helping the leadership and management team understand their own competencies and identify areas for improvement.
The final event of Stage 1 – Leader Camp included team-building activities, aimed at both bonding the team and practicing the agreed-upon competencies through program challenges.
The upcoming stages of the Leadership in Action 2024 program promise many exciting activities, equipping the management team with additional knowledge to apply in practice. Stay tuned!
