Every company has a beginning. For NTQ, it was not defined by abundant resources, a detailed roadmap, or extensive experience in running a business. Instead, it began with a group of young people navigating uncertainty for the very first time — carrying only passion, aspiration, and the belief that technology could create meaningful value beyond borders.

Looking back after nearly 15 years of growth, many of NTQ’s earliest milestones may seem small in scale compared to the company today. Yet those experiences became important foundations that gradually shaped NTQ’s development mindset, service philosophy, and long-term growth direction.

As part of NTQ’s 15th anniversary campaign in 2026, Behind The Stride revisits those early chapters — not simply to retell old stories, but to better understand the spirit and values that have remained unchanged throughout the company’s journey.

Learning Was Never Optional

In the early days, NTQ’s founders had little experience in operating a business, building a strategy, or scaling an organization. There was no clear roadmap for how a young Vietnamese technology company should grow internationally at that time.

That reality turned learning into an essential mindset from the very beginning.

Every challenge became an opportunity to gain first-hand experience. The team learned while building products, working with clients, solving technical issues, and even strengthening language skills in preparation for future global opportunities. Rather than waiting until they felt “ready,” they chose to move forward and adapt along the way.

Over time, this spirit of continuous learning became much more than a temporary solution to overcome limitations. It gradually evolved into one of NTQ’s defining cultural foundations: a mindset of staying open, constantly improving, and proactively adapting to change.

Even today, as NTQ continues expanding its global presence and technological capabilities, learning remains deeply embedded in how the company operates — from talent development and internal knowledge-sharing to innovation initiatives across different business units.

The First Product That Shaped A Service Mindset

One of NTQ’s earliest projects was a Hotel Management Platform deployed for a client in Lao Cai province, located far from Hanoi.

At first, the project was viewed as an important opportunity to validate the team’s technical capability and product-building ambition. However, as the implementation process unfolded, the team began facing a different reality. The client frequently required support for bug fixing, operational guidance, and direct assistance during system usage. At that moment, NTQ realized an important challenge: Geographical distance significantly affected the ability to respond quickly and support customers effectively.

Instead of handling everything remotely, the team made a practical decision to assign members onsite in Lao Cai to work closely with the client whenever issues arose. Although the project itself was relatively small, the experience became highly influential in shaping NTQ’s future service mindset.

More importantly, the journey helped NTQ recognize that technology services were not only about delivering products, but also about accompanying customers closely throughout operational challenges. Staying responsive, maintaining trust, and supporting clients beyond technical delivery gradually became important principles in how NTQ approached long-term partnerships.

Years later, this mindset would continue influencing NTQ’s global expansion strategy, including the establishment of overseas offices to stay closer to clients in key international markets.

Taking Opportunities From Close Connection

In late 2012, despite still operating with limited resources, NTQ decided to make a bold move: relocating from a shared apartment space into its first dedicated 50m² office.

At the time, the new office represented a significant financial challenge for a young company. Yet the leadership believed the decision carried a value beyond simply expanding workspace capacity.

The office happened to be located next to a company already serving Japanese clients – Creating a rare opportunity for NTQ to directly observe, learn, and better understand how businesses operated within the Japanese market. Those close interactions gradually became valuable practical lessons. They provided NTQ with insights into communication styles, working standards, and client expectations in one of the world’s most demanding technology markets.

Only a few months later, NTQ made its first business trip to Japan — an important early step in what would later become one of the company’s key international growth markets.

Looking back, the story reflected an important strategic mindset that still exists within NTQ today: growth opportunities are not always created through large-scale investments, but often through the willingness to stay connected, learn from others, and proactively position for future possibilities.

Behind Every Stride Is A Foundation

The stories from NTQ’s earliest years may not appear extraordinary on the surface. They were filled with trial and error, uncertainty, and constant adjustment.

But behind those moments was something more important: the gradual formation of the principles that continue guiding NTQ today — continuous learning, staying close to customers, adaptability, and the courage to pursue opportunities even in uncertain circumstances.

As NTQ enters its 15th year and prepares for a new phase of growth, these early experiences remain meaningful reminders that sustainable development is rarely built overnight. It is shaped through persistence, accumulated lessons, and the willingness to keep moving forward through every stage of the journey.
