CEO MarkAny: “Our goal is to set new standards of information security for Vietnam businesses”

Recently, NTQ Solution and MarkAny remarked on a new cooperation milestone with an MoU signing ceremony to research & develop top-notch security solutions for Vietnam & global market. Q: Hi Mr. Go Choi, many thanks for your decision to join our interview. To begin the interview session, can you briefly share about MarkAny and your strategy to enter Vietnam? 

MarkAny is a security company that has been developing and providing various information security solutions including DLP, DRM, and watermarking, as well as video security solutions such as AI video surveillance since 1999. We see Vietnam as a market with great growth potential as the demand for various security systems is gradually increasing, and we believe that our technology and products are competitive in the market. 

Q: What are the factors that drives MarkAny to the decision of expanding to Vietnam market? 

Based on our findings, we found that Vietnam is raising awareness of information security in recent years. One of the main reasons comes from the fact that the country is reported to have highest cyberattack events in organizations in Asia, especially in Southeast Asia regions. The most vulnerable business sectors include BFSI, state agencies, telecommunication & airlines, which are often considered as the critical backbone of the nation’s overall economy and activities. 

As a result, The Vietnamese government is requiring more and more enterprises and public organizations to strengthen their security measures through the Cybersecurity Law in 2018 and the Personal Data Protection Decree in 2023. In addition to actions towards digital issues, the importance of information security is growing as the country’s rapid economic growth in recent years has spurred the development of sectors such as e-commerce, fintech, and smart cities.

Vietnam is also undergoing a state-led smart city project, with the urban population expected to grow to 60% by 2040. As a result, many enterprises and organizations are increasingly demanding not only information security systems but also CCTV systems to monitor various accidents, incidents, etc. These mentioned areas match with what we can deliver, pushing us to the final decision of partnering with NTQ Solution to leverage information security solutions in this promising market.
